SpaceX has completed another major step in the expansion of its global Starlink network. On December 11, the company launched 29 new satellites into low Earth orbit, strengthening one of the world’s fastest-growing communication systems. The mission highlights the rapid pace at which SpaceX is building modern space infrastructure.

A New Milestone for SpaceX

The launch took place at 5:01 p.m. EST from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral. Falcon 9 delivered the satellites to their planned orbit in about one hour. This mission also marked the 300th orbital launch carried out worldwide in 2025, underscoring how quickly the space industry is accelerating.

Starlink’s Global Expansion

The Starlink network now includes more than 10,000 satellites, with over 9,100 active units providing coverage. The system already delivers high-speed internet to remote regions, supports Wi-Fi on aircraft, and enables direct-to-phone connectivity. With each launch, the network becomes more reliable and reaches more users around the world.

Falcon 9 Booster Returns Successfully

The first-stage booster, B1083, completed a smooth landing on the droneship Just Read the Instructions in the Atlantic Ocean. This booster has now flown 16 missions, including key flights such as Crew-8 and Polaris Dawn. The successful recovery demonstrates the efficiency and durability of SpaceX’s reusable rocket fleet.

Record-Breaking Launch Activity

This Starlink mission became the 161st Falcon 9 launch in 2025 and the 606th overall mission for SpaceX. These numbers show how the company continues to set new records in operational frequency, cost reduction, and mission reliability. The rapid launch cadence also speeds up the global deployment of Starlink’s communication capabilities.

As SpaceX pushes forward, the Starlink network is expected to grow even faster, expanding access to high-speed internet and shaping the future of global connectivity.
